“For God loves the one who gives gladly, and God is able to give you more than you need, so that you will always have all you need for yourself and more than enough for every good cause… He will always make you rich enough to be generous at all times, so that many will thank God for your gifts…For this service you perform not only meets the needs of God’s people, but also produces an outpouring of graditude to God”
2nd Corinthians 9:7-8, 11-12
What is the LHSA Grand Club?
You are being asked to consider becoming a “Joy Giver” in a “Joy Giving Club” for sacrificial gifts over and above your church and other charitable support to specific needs and opportunities at each of our Lutheran High Schools.
We ask you to accept this “Grand Opportunity” to give a gift of $1,000 or more as an initial gift to the Lutheran High School Association. Your gift can be given as a one time gift or in several installments. Repeat giving is certainly encouraged but not required. Gifts may be given anonymously or in honor of others. Some Grand Club members give Honorary Memberships as repeat gifts for a special person they wanted to honor such as their pastor, a teacher, a friend, or a graduate. Many Parents of Alumni give repeat gifts to make their children Honorary Members of the Grand Club to encourage their continued support as Alumni for our Ministry to Young People.

How can my gift be designated?
Gifts can be designated for needs at your LHS including Student Tuition Aid, Capital Needs, Faculty Salaries and Bonuses (across the LHSA), and for our future via the Lutheran Education Foundation. Please see the enclosed current list of possibilities.
This year, the area of greatest need is for Student Tuition Aid. Would you consider becoming a “Tuition Angel” for one of these students? Michigan economic conditions have left many families considering withdrawing their students as they struggle with tuition payments. Many prayers have been answered when Tuition Angels come forward to help. Tuition Angels see the impact of their gifts as they read the heart warming thank you letters addressed to their Anonymous Angel by grateful students and parents.

When does the Grand Club gather to celebrate?
Each year in early December an Appreciation Dinner is held at the Detroit Athletic Club to say thanks to those who have “gone an extra mile financially to support our Ministry to Young People.” New members are welcomed and given an acrylic plaque to identify their membership and repeat giving levels of $5,000, $10,000, $25,000, and $50,000 are acknowledged. Each year a Lutheran High School’s Music Department is the featured Christmas entertainment for this Celebration Event along with brief updates by Principals and students of each school. The evening is truly one of Christian fellowship and celebration for all that our Lord has accomplished through people like you. Grand Club Members are also given a “Lifetime Pass” to school events as a small way to say “Thanks” and keep you in touch with our flourishing LHS Ministry.
